Captain Bill
Grew up in Newport, Rhode Island and spent many hours on small to medium sized boats in Narragansett Bay and coastal waters. Spent nine years in the US Naval Reserve with service aboard a Destroyer, Destroyer Escort, Cruiser, including training aboard Naval Yard craft. Enlisted in 1960, attended Boot Camp; granted deferments of active duty to attend college; attended Naval Officer Candidate School and commissioned Ensign. Honorably Discharged from active duty as LT, SC, USNR. Retired from General Signal Corporation as division Vice President Human Resources after 29 years; worked part time for the Industrial Management Council in Rochester, NY; returned to full time employment as Sr. Vice President Human Resources for American Medical Instruments Holdings, and retired for the second time in 2007. A non –smoker, social drinker, in excellent health; married to First Mate Brenda, have two grown children, and two grandchildren. Relocated to Sunset Beach, NC from upstate NY in 2007, and spend summers living aboard our boat located at the TI Club, Wellesley Island, NY in the St Lawrence River.
Many years of Power boating experience. Very little sail experience. Currently skipper 40 ft single diesel Mainship trawler on Lake Ontario, Thousand Islands, St Lawrence River, Erie and Rideau Canal.
Available for one on one or group training on your boat or mine, boat delivery or assistance, taxi/excursion boat driving, tow boat operation, or other boat related activities. Primarily in the Lake Ontario region (June through September), and Coastal Carolina in other months, however I am willing to travel.
